Day 3: Favorite Attraction in Tomorrowland

If this were once again a Disneyland blog, Space Mountain would win hands down. However, this isn't, so I picked a better attraction that WDW has (and Disneyland does not. It's Carousel of Progress. Interestingly, it's the only attraction in WDW that has a direct tie to Walt and it only lasted just over six years in Disneyland. It's just a nice tribute to Walt that has stuck around to this day.

Day 2: My Favorite Land at Magic Kingdom

Yes, I know this isn't "technically" a MK land anymore, but it's more of a "What could have been" post for MK Toontown. In case you don't know the whole story, this piece of property opened up in June of 1988 as "Mickey's Birthdayland" to celebrate Mickey's 60th birthday. The name then changed to "Mickey's Starland" in May 1990 to reflect the popularity of the land (and a giant commercial for the Disney Afternoon) before becoming the holiday home for Mickey and friends in 1996 with Toontown.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast...
Disneyland was working on a new land of their own, devoid of a party for Mickey. Instead, a popular movie at the time made by Disney had a Toontown reference. That movie? Who Framed Roger Rabbit. If you have not seen this cinemagic genius, please stop reading and watch this film. I'll wait.

...And that's how I got to drive the Radio Disney Cruise at Animal Kingdom! Oh, welcome back! Where were we? Ah yes, Disneyland's Toontown. Disney put shovels in the ground and built a land based on the film you either have just seen or have seen before and its marquee attraction (Outside of meeting Mickey & Co. of course!) is a spinning ride called Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin. If you've never been to either Disneyland or Tokyo Disneyland, here's a ride video of the American version:

Fun isn't it? It's my belief that if WDW went the route of it's California friend and did Toontown from scratch as opposed to shoehorning the theme inside the land that we'd have a happy medium between Roger and Princesses.

Day 1 of "30 Days of Disney World"

Favorite Walt Disney World park?

It's Epcot! A few reasons for this:
1. It's so dramatically different than what had been done before with the Magic Kingdom models.
2. This was Walt's dream for Florida minus being able to live here, but you can kinda do that now if you have an outrageous amount of money that I can only dream of.
3. This is the park that when I walk around it I can feel Walt's presence in it the most, especially when he talked about how the park is never finished; it's always new and changing (How you feel about said changes is debatable, but that's life).
4. I did a research project about Epcot's history for a composition class my Freshman year of college. Why? We could pick anything.
